Another word on relatives
On the subject of my chickens and other relatives… You can tell Granny’s impending arrival has really ruffled my feathers, it’s bringing back all sorts of nauseating memories.
I thought I’d share some classic relative ways with you, so you know just what I have to deal with back on Novapulse.
This one from Aunt Avarice (don’t ask…): “I really hate corn. I’ve never tried it, but I hate it. I also really hate fish. I’ve never met one, but I hate them.”
This from Aunt Flora: “Don’t tell anyone but I love to eat cows. Get the waiter to bring me a feelay steak.”
This from Uncle Rock: “My favourite snack is baked Cummin Bert with cranberry sauce”.
And from Uncle Igor (you really don’t want to know…): “I went to Earth once. I had to take one of those aeroplane because they wouldn’t let me use my wings. So I flew from Ireland with Air Linctus and went to Instantbul.”
And a final one from Aunt Avarice: “Kill it, kill it! If it moves, kill it!”
Okay, so now you begin to understand my hesitation when it comes to relatives.
And you thought I was bad. Oh baby, you ain’t seen nothing. Ba-kaaak!

Oh the embarrassment that relatives bring!! Gerald Durrel's My Family and other Animals is a great exploration of this... but sometimes it's a case of can't live with 'em; can't live without 'em.

I think your relatives sound pretty cool. Better than my boring lot.

It's beyond embarrasment - and I assure you, I can definitely live without my relatives! Get one rotten grandma' and the rest of the brood all follow in her clawtracks!

Moira, you want my relatives? You can have them. I'll take your boring lot any day! Anything for a bit of peace.

Ever thought of a career in stand-up, Atyllah?

Oh yeah, lots of times, Addy, but Novapulse chickens aren't allowed to be exhibitionists - and that's really what stand up comedy's all about, isn't it!? ;-)
