Like I need this now!

Oh slavvering corndogs! If it wasn’t bad enough having Granny Were break in on my daily log, now Aunt Aggie has found a way to drift by and stick a talon in too (see entry directly below). I don’t have time for this, really I don’t. Not now. It is already full moon – though Granny’s transformation will only be complete when the moon rises in the night sky. For now I’ve got the old bird locked up in her room from whence issue the most ghastly crowhowls and crashes. I’ve already had calls from the neighbours telling me to keep the row down. Of course, I can’t tell them what’s really making the noise, so I’ve just said the heating has gone on the blink and we’re doing our best to fix it. Judging by the snorts on the other end of the line, I suspect they didn’t believe me. Which is strange. Usually you humans are so gullible.

That aside, since I don’t have much time today, what with Granny’s were rising, I’d just like to direct you to two articles which appeared this week. I won’t beg you to read them, Novapulsians don’t sink that low. Instead, I insist you read and consider them. The one is a piece by Eduardo Galeano, the other by George Monbiot – both humans who give some sense of hope to this planet by saying it like it is. They also happen to make some sense of the present fracas in the Middle East where a lot of scary people are way out of control.

No doubt there may be some who think that in posting links to these pieces I’ve gone all anti-Semitic. Not true. For one, I’m an external observer and not party to any of your human nonsense and, secondly, Novapulsians don’t do this race stuff. In fact, we don’t do any of the ‘isms from which humans suffer so prolifically. Remember, for us it is all about the dignity of the individual.

You know, I often think if you lot would just accept your tendency to isms – racism, agism, sexism, nationalism etc - you might get ahead and save yourselves. Perhaps if you started with the premise that you are scared of and threatened by one another that might be a better point from which to move forward as opposed to pretending things are and should be all peachy, peace, love and organic cornbread. Start with what you have and then move to what you might like to have. Admit you are totally phobic about one another, acknowledge your differences and seek your compromises from that point. Or, of course, you could just carry on as you are. I know the Draconians would like that.
